Our Team

Ernie Coufal, Realtor/Owner/Oregon Principal Broker

I have been in the real estate and banking industry for over 40 years, and have been an Oregon Principal Broker since 2002. I joined The Sunset Group, Inc. in 2007 as the Sales Manager until I became the General Manager in 2013. In 2015 I purchased the company from the estate of the founders. In January of 2016 the company was renamed to Ascend Realty & Property Management. We strive to provide the highest level of service and professionalism to our owners and tenants.

My work in Planning and Community development, banking and as a principal in my own real estate development projects gives me a unique perspective of real estate’s legal and other complex issues.

I believe in giving back to our community and the real estate industry. Community involvement has included positions on the Board of Directors and as a volunteer for several non-profit and economic development organizations and involvement in the Chamber of Commerce and other community groups. In addition, I have served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Oregon Association of Realtors and the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors. I have also been involved in many committees and activities of the Real Estate Association.

I believe that the level of teamwork in any organization determines its success. I strive to create a team of Staff and Brokers that work together toward a common goal of meeting the needs of our clients and the members of our team in a professional and supportive manner.

Lisa Fain, Oregon Real Estate Broker/Property Manager
Lisa’s 30 years of experience in sales and marketing is a great asset to buyers, sellers, owners and investors. She is a high energy, creative, detail-oriented person. She regularly takes continuing education courses to increase her real estate and property management knowledge and sales skills.

She has been with Ascend Realty & Property Management since 2007. She takes great pride in what she does and truly enjoys working with property owners and tenants. She is always looking to build hrt business and gain new clients.

Helping clients find the home that best fits their needs is the most fulfilling part of her job. Her goal is to provide a high level of service that results in satisfied owners and tenants.

Lynnette Flatten, Property Manager
An Iowa native, Lynnette moved to Portland in 2012. She has been in the real estate business as a Property Manager for 15 years. Lynnette joined the company as a Showing & Inspections Representative and is now a property manager. She enjoys school plays and music events, and local concerts. Music Festivals, Art Shows, Food events, and Movies in the Park are her favorite things to do in the Portland area.

Alejandra Cupa, Property Manager

Alejandra is a Spanish and English bilingual speaker. She has worked in property management positions since 2006 and joined Ascend Realty & Property Management in September of 2022. She enjoys being able to work and help others. Se enjoys meeting and working with tenants and property owners and is always ready to help provide the best experience.
